Heidi Smith is a licensed professional counselor and a fellow of thanatology. She is certified in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
Heidi received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her Masters in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. She has been licensed with the state of Minnesota since 2017. Her specialty is grief due to loss, bringing her experience serving the community of Rochester, MN as the Director of the Center for Grief Education and Support at a non-profit hospice.
Heidi has worked with youth in various settings since 1990, and this experience is what encouraged her to pursue a degree in counseling. As a counselor she has facilitated groups in several of the public schools in Rochester as well as in residential programs and the juvenile detention center.
Heidi is passionate about helping people of all ages and walks of life understand their unique gifting and how this impacts their style of processing everyday stressors, events and trauma. She is available to meet in person or via tele-health .
As a believer in Jesus Christ, Heidi welcomes all and provides the opportunity for those desiring so to incorporate their Christian faith into sessions, including scripture reading, discussion and prayer.
